Support Our League – Be A Volunteer!

SGSL is a volunteer organization. Please volunteer your time to assist our league in providing another great year of softball experience to the players. There is a wide range of positions available. Coaches - Assistant Coaches and Umpires are always needed. We provide the training to get you started!

Open Board Positions

As a board member you are in a position to make an impact on the success of the league and none of the Board positions require specific softball knowledge. Here are our current open positions:

Umpire-in-Chief (helps to recruit, train and preside over the umpires)
Umpire Scheduler (schedules umpires for games and tournaments)
12U Player Agent/Division Director (Conducts annual tryouts, and is in charge of player selection in creating fair and equal teams, assists President in checking birth records and eligibility of players. Board liaison for their division)
14/16U Player Agent/Division Director (same as above)
Events Director (helps to plan the additional events such as Stanford games and Santa Clara University Clinics)

Our board meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at Ortega Park Recreation Building. They start at 7:00pm and run for no more than 2 hours. Everyone is welcome to attend any of the board meetings - please stop by anytime!
